Falls Road Running Summer Distance Programs
The Official Training Program of the Baltimore Running Festival
Distance Training Meets 7:30 AM Saturday morning at the Radisson Inn, Cross Keys
Ladies Track Meets 6:30 PM Wednesday at the Loyola/Hopkins Track on 33rd Street.
Distance Training Phase 1 (Spring through end of June) - Marathon Basing/10 Mile/ 10K Program
To prepare a running “base” for runners to
A) Prepare runners to complete the Baltimore Ten Miler, Dreaded Druid Hills 10K, or Arbutus Firecracker 10 K.
B) Provide a fundamental background base of mileage to allow the runner to successfully complete the Baltimore Half-Marathon or Full Marathon, or an equivalent event in the 2012 Fall Season.
Locations and Times:
A) The Saturday group run will usually meet at the Inn at Cross Keys at 7:30 AM. The various courses will generally follow bike paths throughout the Roland Park/Hampden/Charles Village areas and also utilize running courses in Druid Hill Park.
B) Weekday track workouts will be conducted at the Loyola/Johns Hopkins Track on 33rd Street at 6:30 PM on Thursday evenings starting in May.
Coaches and Trainer:
There is a rotating staff of coaches, including the following:
Amy Horst, Elijah Kosgei, Melissa Majumdar, Erin Sanders, Rodney Timpson, Jim Adams
A) Fluid support on long runs
B) Guaranteed entry into the following races up until two weeks before the event (race fee must be paid separately.)
Dreaded Druid Hills 10K
Falls Road 15K
Baltimore Half-Marathon OR
Baltimore Marathon OR
Baltimore Running Festival 5K OR
Baltimore Running Festival 4 Person Relay
C) Educational Seminars and programs by other Baltimore Running Festival sponsors
D) Automatic membership into the Falls Road Running Road Runner's Club of America Club # 1462 for the rest of the year.
E) Discounts on gear and accessories at Falls Road Running for the duration of the program

Ladies Night Track Sessions

When: Wednesdays 6:30 – 7:30 PM
Where: Johns Hopkins/Loyola Track (across the street from the YMCA / the old Memorial Stadium site, 1101 E 33rd Street)
An 11 week session from 11 Jul – 19 Sept
Who should participate?
Women runners at all levels are encouraged to join and discover a fabulous environment with fellow women who will support, encourage and empower you to reach your goals.
Are you a walker that would like to transition to running, a beginning runner that would like to train for your first 5K, or an experienced runner looking to better your marathon time? Or anywhere in between?

What should I bring?
Plan to arrive by 6:15 PM to allow time to warm up. Workouts will start promptly at 6:30 PM. Please bring plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and a towel for stretching.
The track is located at the back side of the Ellerslie parking lot.
