The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults Formalizes Triathlon Partnership with Corrigan Sports Enterprises

Corrigan Sports will lead production and marketing of Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon and Columbia Triathlon, Ulman Cancer Fund remains beneficiary

BALTIMORE – October 25, 2016 – Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults and Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE) announces a strategic partnership to support and expand the Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon and the Columbia Triathlon & Duathlon beginning in 2017. CSE will lead the organization and execution of the two races and Ulman Cancer Fund will continue to benefit from funds raised to impact the lives of young adults and their loved ones impacted by cancer.
The partnership will help organizers to expand participation in the races, position them as world-class events and continue the great sports tradition within the region. Ulman Cancer Fund has enjoyed a strong relationship with CSE for more than 10 years, working together on the organization’s fundraising platforms.

“Corrigan Sports Enterprises has a strong reputation for being a leader in event production and sports marketing, and we’re eager to partner with them to sustain these important events,” said Brian Satola, Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults COO & Race Director, UCF Races. “Bringing in a strong partner positions the races for future success and enhances our ability for them to grow.”

For more than 34 years, the Columbia Triathlon has attracted athletes from across the United States and around the world to Howard County to compete in the acclaimed Olympic distance race.
The Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon is the premier women’s event and largest endurance race of its kind. The popular sprint distance race recently marked its 11th year with more than 1800 participants.

“We are excited to bring these two world class endurance events into our portfolio and to continue to enrich the community, celebrate the achievements of each participant while supporting the mission of the Ulman Cancer Fund,” said Lee Corrigan, CSE president.

The Columbia Triathlon is currently scheduled for May 21, 2017 and the Iron Girl Columbia Triathlon will be August 20, 2017. Both events kick off at Centennial Park in Ellicott City, Maryland
