King Crab Banquet Was a Blast

The 2018 King Crab Challenge Banquet was a grand success! Anyone who was brave enough to take on the half marathon at the Frederick Running Festival, the Baltimore 10-Miler and the full or half marathon at the Baltimore Running Festival were rewarded with a royal banquet commemorating their efforts.

The King Crabbers came in droves to the Inner Harbor flashing their 7 inch silver medal proudly around their necks. Rob from Baltimore said, “The King Crab Banquet is a great way to cap off the 2018 running year because everyone can sit and talk with their fellow runners about the great moments we had this year!”

The Hard Rock Café was the perfect setting for an outstanding night in Baltimore. All the King Crabbers received drink and food specials to toast their achievements. There was even a live band and an emcee to entertain the crowd throughout the evening.

The King Crabbers were also treated to some extra benefits to cap off the evening. Everyone who attended was rewarded with a $100 coupon to register for 2019. This is a huge savings of more than 40% for some bundles. There were also hundreds of dollars of raffle prizes given away throughout the night including gift certificates to Little Italy, King Crab backpacks and medal racks, Blue the Crab quarter-zips, t-shirts and sweatshirts. Just about everyone in attendance walked away with some short of extra prize from the raffle.

One lucky runner even walked away with a free entry into next year’s King Crab Challenge. The grand prize winner, Kim from Baltimore, will run the Frederick & Baltimore half-marathons and the Baltimore 10-Miler at no charge, just for attending the banquet.

“I’m really proud of everyone in this room for persevering through this tough challenge. The atmosphere and camaraderie in this building makes all the training worth it,” said Amy from Maryland.

In January, we will reveal a new King Crab medal design for 2019! Design ideas are being developed as we speak but rest assured it will be quite the spectacle to see. We can’t wait to see all of you again next year at this amazing celebration!
